Default Fat Bob 2018 leaking?

Hi everyone, first time poster here, glad to be able to tap into this huge knowledge source.

I’ve had a 2018 Fat Bob 107 for about a month now, about to go in for the first service this weekend, and I just noticed what appears to be a stain (looks like oil or grease) in the neck. I plan to ask the dealer to look at it, but it’s always good to step into the service department with some knowledge.

Is this normal? Any tips you guys can give me are much appreciated!

Might be some residual lube that wasn't wiped off?

Could be, but I’ve washed her a couple of times already, and the stain looks and feels “fresh”, and feeling oily.

Grease on neck bearings - they aren't sealed, so there will be a little residue- DO NOT power wash that area. You can force water onto the bearing area, displacing the grease and ruining the bearing.

Look underneath and I bet the bottom side has grease also, even if it doesn't they are are pretty liberal with the grease and I don't believe there is anything to worry about. My slim s had/has a ton of neck grease coming out the bottom. I just wipe it with a paper towel to remove the over flow, not up inside but over flow.

Thanks guys, it’s my first Harley and I’m still learning the ins and outs. I’ll clean it up and keep watching!

As others have said....there's not much in that area that can leak. The only thing is grease from the neck bearings. But that will be very thick grease anyway, so my bet is that a blob of it has squished out due to over application at assembly and then spread in the hot South American sun.

Also as other have said - don't pressure wash that area. Or any other bearing area for that matter. But then I never pressure wash my bikes anyway.

I wouldn't worry. But do ask the service team to check it out when you have your service.

I would wipe it and leave it. No big deal
