i have a semi-new-to-me 2001 Harley Fatboy. It has a 6 speed tranny, which looks to be an oem housing with no markings on it. Was swapped by a shop prior to me owning it.
The issue now is, when I ride, the bike shifts fine through all 6 gears but while downshifting I push down on the heel/toe shifter and it doesn't do anything. It makes its full motion but doesn't engage to downshift. But if I push forcefully it will engage but might take a time or 3 to go through each gear. And it's become basically impossible to find neutral.
where should I start and how can I narrow this issue down?
Change the oil using the correct gear oil for your area, make sure your shift linkage is adjusted correct as well and check your clutch adjustment as well.
