yes, davej....thats prolly the best reason to go with the 07.....the fatter tire....although my 200 is now too small for me, it kept me satisfied for a while....
LOL, it's like a boat, you always want a bigger one.

DaveJ,

What difference in ride does having a 200m rear tire make?

I don't know if I can really answer that. I have ridden many different bikes, but the closest comparison I can make is between my bike and an '04 Springer a buddy has. But there are many differences besides just the rear tire in our two bikes, so I can't really say how they would differ.

I will say that other than the negative impact of lowering my bike 2", it rides just fine, IMO.

Thanks guys!

I will let everyone know how it goes on Saturday.
Good thing is, they have alot of bikes, so I can get a good feel of the different ones. Hopefully they will have a new NT so I can compare the two.

But if this bike speaks to me....................

Here are a couple of pics of my 2005 Night Train in pearl black. One is bone stock, the other with Screaming eagle slip-ons & some chrome.

Just my opinion but if the price difference is only $3K I'd say the '05 is overpriced.

monkyman: Very nice and I like the black peral color. I originally wanted the Denim black, but seeing a black pearl NT in person changed my mind. The gloss really sets the rest of the matte black parts off.

Sidehack: What would be a decent price for a good 05?

my opinion on the benefit of a fatter tire....more tire on the ground...more stability at higher speeds/wind blowing....and a bit more tire to lay her over in them tight turns[sm=teetertooter.gif]

I would go for the 07, for 3 - 4 grand more, you are getting upgrades that you will eventually want to do and they will cost more like 8,000 to do (200 tire, 6 speed trans, 96" motor). Plus with the 4.9% financing from harley right now for 60 mos until the end of July on all 07s, it really makes it a no brainer. The mods listed on the bike you are going to look at will cost you about $1000 to do. Buy the 07, unless he is selling the 05 for 10K or so. Don't forget that you will also get a brand new warranty on the 07. The 05s is most likely done. You shoudl be able to find a deal on an 07 somewhere, my local dealer (in NJ though) is selling all 07 Big Twins for $1500 off, you could probably squeeze 11% out of them if you tried).

p.s. I own an 05 night train...and I wish I had waited for at least an 06 for the 200 tire.

Thanks all,
Definately gives me some information to think about. I think they have 1-2 07 NT, so when I go down Saturday, I will see what the difference is in the Mo. payment of the 07vs the 05. See what speaks to me.

BTW: why is it that there aren't too many used NTs on the market. At least around the Central Texas area, there are very few, and the ones that are, seem to be as much or more than a new one. Most of the dealers I have talked to, either have 1, maybe 2 on the floor or they are gone as soon as they come in. Other than the black parts and handle bars, is there any difference between the NT and a ST Sandard?

Just wondering???????????

Thanks Bros
