Default A question about Softail TC cam chain upgrade
My Indy is closed at the moment. I took the bike out for a few miles today and when I got home the oil did not touch the dipstick. The pressure is fine but I was wondering if the upgrade with the new oil pump affected the way you check the oil?

No, but the oil pump may have bad alignment causing it to sump.

My softail only holds 3 quarts. Manual says to pour in 2 quarts, run it to temp, and top off with as much is needed. Are you sure he put the 3rd quart in after he was done?

He did not. It seems it was over a quart low. Mech says he can’t remember toppings it off. Hummmm

Run it halfway between full and add. If you fill it right to the full mark it'll puke out the breather after high RPM or hard use.
