At 35,400mi I had my cam chain adjuster checked by the dealer and all was fine with the adjuster. After that inspection I noticed my oil pressure gauge was about 3/4 of the way up towards 60psi when the motor was cold. As the oil heats up it reads more normal (around 32psi when riding).
Prior to the cam chain inspection it read was about 32psi when cold and would stay there even if I revved the motor until the oil got hot then it would drop down at idle and go back to 32psi when cruising.
I changed my oil yesterday and the gauge got my attention again. I'm wondering if I have a problem brewing since it never acted this way prior to the inspection. I now have 36,500mi on the odometer. I might also add that my last 2 oil changes, I switched to Valvoline 4 stroke Motorcycle oil, 20-50W and I also add a few ounces of Lucas which I have been doing for years. I switched from the HD oil because their prices are getting ridiculous.
The bike is an '06 SG.
So my question is, has anyone experienced oil pressure similar to what I have described and do I have a problem?

if you're putting lucas oil stabilizer in ,,,that can cause it to bump up.....that stuff is thiiiiiick......I've heard high oil pressure is bad,,,good, or doesn't matter....my self...I just installed some S&S 570 ezstart cams, new billet camplate and oil pump and mine is on 60 hot or cold going down the road...when hot it's on 15 at idle....I used the lucas in mine before startup after the cam change....i'm just keeping an eye on it for right now and will wait to see what it's like this summer...

The Lucas oil stabilizer I used had been sitting in my garage for about 2 yrs. and it did look a little thicker than usual. I'm just hoping the dealer didn't cause some type of problem when they inspected the cam chain adjuster.
