I have a 2016 Softail Slim FLS. I added Vance and Hines Shortshots Staggered (Standard Baffle) Pipes and a Billett Stage 1 air filter. I tuned it all with the FP3 Fuelpak. Thought everything went smoothly but now when riding it pops (backfires) seemingly when decelleratiing. I don't like it. Some people say its normal, don't worry, but I just don't enjoy that loud backfire or feeling like somethings not right. I enjoy a smooth ride much better. Suggestions for fixing the popping?

things I would look at:
Did you use new exhaust gaskets? if so is it possible you damaged one on install?
Was there more than one map for your setup and did you get the right one?
How many auto tune sessions did you do? did you vary your riding during the auto tune?
when i used one on my lowrider S it took several sessions before it ran really well.
call the fuelpak support and see what they say.
with very short pipes it is very hard to get rid of decel pop.

You can use the "Decel Pop" reduction feature on your FP3. Go to "View/Edit Maps" and it's under "Air/Fuel". Start with 1 firecracker and adjust to 2 or 3 firecrackers if needed. The more firecrackers, the worse your MPG will be, so adjust it just enough to eliminate the pop.

I hear a lot about this and I have a 2016 Heritage (essentially same bike), V&H, FP3 tuner.
So, when I decelerate (and by that, I mean downshifting), I only have the decel pop if I HARD decelerate. If I'm not driving like a maniac, let the engine slow to the same speeds it would be while upshifting, meaning "appropriate for the gear I'm shifting down into", then I don't have this issue at all.
I have a 17 with a full OEM Stage 1 Kit with Cobra 3 Slash Cut Slip Ons and a FP3.
Originally, I flashed it with one of the canned maps for generic@ slip ons, and the bike ran like garbage. I then flashed it with the canned map for the V&H 3 Slash Cut Slip Ons: the bike ran insanely better, but I did have a log of Decel pop. I then adjusted the Decel Pop setting, and it was significantly better.
The one thing Ive noticed is that I can cut down the Decel pop almost down 100% if I ease off the throttle instead of letting it snap back to zero.
