I have a new to me bone stock 2007 Fatboy with a little under 13K miles. I want to do a stage 1 sometime in the next few months. I'm not really in any hurry so I'm just going to slowly search for an air cleaner kit, exhaust and tuner (thinking fp3 for ease of use). If something catches my eye I'll nab it. Anyway, to the question. I saw this Rinehart/Bub exhaust on ebay. I can't find hardly any info on it as I think it must be discontinued (in 2009 best that I can tell). Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Genuine...53.m1438.l2649
Its a new 2 into 1 for $350. Does anyone know anything about this pipe? I'm not set on a 2 into 1 and am not looking for any crazy performance, just a regular setup like they all should come from the factory with in the first place. I've had some V&H long shots and short shots before. I really like the rinehart tips and the 2 into 2 look and sound good to me. What I like about this ebay exhaust frankly is price. Its less than half the cost of the current RH 2 into 1. Just hesitant because I know nothing of this exhaust and it is an ebay sale which is not my favorite way to buy. I appreciate any reply and if it is suddenly sold I guess that will be answer enough! I'm 51 and this bike is just a little side project for me so looking for stuff is half the fun.
Nice looking pipe. If I was in the market, I'd take a good look at it just cuz it's different. I've bought stuff from that seller-straight shooter as far as I'm concerned.
I sent email to Rinehart, no reply. I sent an email to Bub and they replied. I called Bub and the guy on the phone said this was made prior to him owning the company and he had no data or info about that part number. He just said that the pipes should fit my 2007 Fatboy. The seller says he has a 7 day return window and I'm not ready to install. I just saw a nice looking Rinehart new pipe for $350 and was thinking of picking it up for the future. Guess I got a decision to make or maybe contact the seller and work something out. I was hoping someone might recognize it or possibly owned it on here to give a reply to its sound, the install, etc.
Well, I went ahead and got it. I talked in person a little bit with the local harley service manager and double checked the fitment. Its an older model pipe...but it and my bike are the same age! I could not find much info after days of looking. I did find an old youtube video on an 08 and an 07 softail duece in black. I think it looks and sounds just fine to me. And I'll have the only one around. I'm hoping it'll be a little less sound than the various V&H 2 into2s I've owned. Plus half the price!
Looks like you got a good deal! Do you know if the baffle is wrapped or not?
No idea. Could not find any info on these from anyone including Rinehart and Bub. A few videos was about all I found. I've been struggling with whether to take a chance with these for a few days before I bought them. Rolling the dice with ebay. Seller seems good. Hope install goes good as well. I'm hoping they are quieter than my previous pipes. I want to ride to work and I know my neighbors will appreciate it. They never said anything.....just assuming because I know how I hate being woke up!
