Default Fuel Pac program after battery change

I am getting ready to change the battery in my 2008 Heritage, which has the V&H fuel pac.
I was told that the Fuel Pac will need to be re-programed after the battery has been disconnected.
Does anybody know if this is correct?
Thanks,

My FP1 hasn't needed to be reprogrammed, but then again I've not looked at it since it was installed and I've gone through 2 battery changes since.
The bike runs the same as always so I assume the FP1 retains it settings.

But even if it has to be reprogrammed; it is what it is.
Change the battery and if needs to be reprogrammed then reprogram it.

Crap I hope not! I have had the dynojet system through 3 batteries and never thought about it losing the program...

Thanks,
You won't lose the map when you change the battery. They use the same kind of memory that is used to store photos on your cell phone - it gets programmed and stays that way until it gets erased or overwritten.

The FP3 won't be affected by changing the battery on the bike. As indicated, it uses E2Ram to store all the maps, likewise the bikes VIN number when first connected and it is assigned. Also consider this if you are still worried. You can unplug the FP3 from the bike computer if you don't want it connected all the time and it doesn't loose it information. No difference, however if you are still concerned, about a battery change doing something different, unplug it before you disconnect the battery.
