2011 HD Dyna Wide Glide 96 CI
Took battery out last fall for storage in the basement. trickle charged over the winter.
Dead this Spring. (7 years old...)
New battery--full charge 12+ volts.
Bike is completely dead.
tried the reset thing...turning ignition on/off three times...still completely dead.
Checked main fuse---looks great...checked fuse on battery cable--looks great. Bike ran good last fall when parked. (Turned over hard for rides in November and December in Minnesota....so indication the battery was dying...) like I said above...bought a new battery. this bike is as dead as can be. What to do????
Do the lights come on? Is the kill switch on? Are cables tight? Also you can not always look at a fuse and tell if it is good. Sounds like something simple.

....not sure how to navigate this site. I just joined yesterday...posted my dilemma. I did respond already but do not see it here so will do it again...
No lights
Had switch on (Run)
Cables good.
Fuses look good...but we can double ck them.
someone told me there is a reset .....perhaps that's it. I looked online..said to turn switch 3 times on/off. Tried that a couple times. Did nothing.
Somehow it says on a Softail page/group.....not sure how I did that. I have a wide glide.
Fuses can look good, but not be so chech it with an ohm meter. I think there's a fuse link hiding somewhere too. Ought to look for it. But, as has been said, it's probably a simple problem.

Got it!!! Two ground wires. I hooked up the new battery...... didn't know there were 2.....😞
FYI, Always take before photos of any work that you're about to start on with your smart phone so you'll have something to reference when putting everything back together.
