Hi guys, just got my S&S slip-ons installed this week at a shop, which sound awesome. I asked the shop to remove the DB reducers, which they didnt. Tried to do it myself, but was unable to remove the tips after taking out the screws holding them in. Does anyone have any tips for getting the covers off? I thought about spraying some WD-40, but I dont want to ruin the finish, or worse, screwing up the exhaust (or setting the bike on fire!).
If anyone wants a clip of bike running before I remove them let me know and Ill post it!
I have the S&S MK45’s which have the DB reducers as well.. you do not need to do anything with the tips. Look indie the outlet opening and you will see two Allen head screws. Take those out and the DB reducers pull right out. The screws hold the round Flange in. I think the screws are at 3 & 9 O’Clock.
If you still have an issue let me know and I will get a photo.
The caps are a snug fit. But all you need to do is remove the three bolts per muffler and then wiggle the caps off with a bit of patience. WD40 won't hurt anything on the finish either.
