I'm hearing a pretty loud howling noise coming from the clutch area? Never heard this on any other brand of M/C before. Is this normal with an '07 Night Train or could it be a sign of something going wrong?
I'm sorry, 11k miles, new fluids and adjustments... I've been looking at the Hayden M6 Primary Chain Tensioner, but I'm not sure if that is where the "Howl" is coming from. I hate to throw money at it...
A 'howl' makes me suspect the drive belt is too tight.
Thanks for the reply but this was while sitting at a light, the "HOWL" was so loud I was embarrassed.
( I'd like to edit and repost my original statement I'm hearing a pretty loud howling noise coming from the clutch area while standing still? Never heard this on any other brand of M/C before. Is this normal with an '07 Night Train or could it be a sign of something going wrong? the bike has 11k and fluids were just changed
Thanks for your reply, somewhere along the line I did mention getting a Hayden M6 spring loaded Primary Chain adjuster, Do you have any experience with something like that?
Don't you believe HD would have acted immediately it they had knowledge of their adjuster causing the chain to get too tight causing unnecessary wear on the chain and bearings???
Have you already installed an M6 or are you thinking about getting one? You are not quite clear on that point. If you haven't installed one, the howl may mean it's too late. The IPB is already bad. If you have already installed one you may have the early version and have the too stiff springs. IPB may be bad.

No, I haven't installed one yet, trying to determine if this is what I need to do to eliminate the howl.
