Quick detach sissy bar
i have a 2017 slim and im wondering what I have to do to put a quick detach sissy bar on . I have seen some that don’t have the turn signals relocated jut the license plate is this correct or do I have to also move them back or even down with the license? Any help would be appreciated . Thanks

There are threads already on the forum on how to modify the locking bars onto the lugs and it is exactly what I did as I didn't want to change the turn indicators using the HD kit. It looks naff when you do that and I have heard that it is easy to break the thin relocating bars. Use the kit to install the side lugs (which you need) and with the Sissy bar, disassemble the locking mechanism. Create a template, which is what I did and then cut to fit. Take it slow and file the last part. You will find that you will get down to the pin hole but it doesn't matter. Check and test by reassembling each time until you get clearance from the original indicator mounts. You only need a 1mm or so. Once down, spray it up with some black paint and you will still have a stock bike with the option of the quick detach. I did this on both the sissy bar and also the quick detach rack when I want a slightly different look with the solo seat.
