Hahaha looks like it's gonna become a pretty common thing to see a Harley rider riding along shakin the crap outta their hand.
I must admit, I get numb hands really badly. My throttle hand is gone after about 12 mins. I developed a way to kind ride with my palm while stretching out my fingers. Hmmm sounds dodgy, but it does work.
Got an '01 Fatty stock bars. I'm now awaiting arrival of my 18" Wild One Psycho Apes. I will report if they make it better or worse. Either way I think the shaking thing seems to work untill they develop mechanical hands!
Also consider that you git a little more vibration out of your throttle grip from the fact that it has to turn on the bar. I believe Ness makes a bearing system that goes in the end of your bar and supports the end of the throttle tube. If you noticed this issue when you changed grips it is most likely the grips them selves.
I had the same thing on my Road Glide because the stock handlebars put my hand in an uncomfortable position with my wrist cocked back toward me. I put on new handlebars from a Wide Glide with large diameter grips and the problem went away.
my right hand does go numb after a bit of riding, no difference if i wear gel gloves or not. the best solution i have found , is to keep a loose grip on the bars. firm enough to maintain control but not a death grip. hope this helps. g'day mate.
I notice my hand going numb when the night before I did not have a woman with me....
On a serious note I did have the same problem moved the bars back just a touch and no more numbing.
