I did a thorough comparison of the swingarms on an '04 springer and my '06 Standard(well, as thorough as it could be with them still attached to the bikes). They are the same swingarms as the old/new fatboys, and the dimensions are the same. The only difference I could find was the tab the brake caliper mounts to.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess you want to put a 200mm tire on. Someone submitted a post a while back stating they were able to convert their ('00-'05) Softail using the original swingarm and brakes. If I recall, they only had to change the pulley, belt, and wheel. But I don't remember.

Thanks, you are correct, 200m tire. Your research makes sense. However, they have different stock HD part numbers and your data is a year short. In supporting you I know for a fact from axel bolt frame, ear to ear, is the same.

Thanks again,

I am not sure I understand your response. Yes, the part numbers are different, but from what I gather it is due to the different brake caliper mounting tab. I don't have the means to look up the stock part numbers right now, but if you look at the part numbers for chrome swingarms on HD's website, you will see there are 2 flavors:

'00-later Softail models (except '06-later FXST, FXSTB, FXSTS, '06 FLSTFSE2 and '07 FLSTF and FXSTC).

-and-

'06-later FXST, FXSTB, FXSTS and '07 FXSTC and FLSTF models.

This would tell me the two swingarms I compared would be relevant to this discussion. The only difference I know between the '06's and '07's would be the wheel. I have read here on HDForums they switched to metric axel's on the '07's.

Hope that helps.
