Question Fat Bob 114 Fuel Moto Power Vision With Just Slip-Ons

This is my first choice as they pretty much rock having used them in the past with PCV's. My FXFBS had S&S Grand National slip ons installed by the dealer. While I get the very occasional subtle burp from the exhaust the fueling is pretty much spot on. I have read a few riders stating that they really didn't feel much notable difference after installing a tuner with just slip ons on the FXFBS.

What I'm looking for here is actual user feedback from folks with just slip ons added to an '18 Fat Bob 114 and running a tuner. My gut is telling me it's not necessary.

This is a question without a very clear answer. For example, Harley says with Street Cannons that an ECM update is required. However, they don't offer a Stage 1 calibration for the 2018 Fat Bob, so... how are you supposed to flash it?

You could use SmartTune sessions with the Street Tuner, that would dial it in. I have the same S&S mufflers on my 114 Stage II Fat Bob; the dealer used the stock calibration on the SEPST and I then dialed it in with a couple of SmartTune sessions.

The PowerVision would obviously work as well, but with the downside of immediately voiding your warranty. That would seem to be a pretty big price to pay for likely marginal improvements.

I have a Fat Boy with a 114 and Reinhart slip-ons....did the Fuel Moto Power Vision tuner and I'm very happy with the result. I believe it's money well spent and will allow for upgrades in the future.

Have the Fat Bob with the S&S and the Power Vision tuner. Before I installed the S&S slip ons I loaded the improved tune with the stock pipes. Bike was smoother and the pick up was more direct. Installed the S&S slip ons and loaded the appropriate tune and as far as I can tell bike runs better after a couple of auto tune runs. For all I know it might just be between my ears.

Being in EU no worries about voiding warranty with the PV either. (good thing too since bike is weeping oil at the rocker boxes on both cylinders)

Honestly, the warranty issue with an aftermarket tuner has me a bit concerned. Add that to the fact that I don't think the bike is that far off with just the slip-ons I am swaying towards the SEPST at this point.

Are you saying that the SEPST does not offer a canned tune for the Fat Bob 114 with slip-ons?

I ran just Rinehart slipons on my Fat Bob for a week or two. Everything was just fine. Curiosity got the best of me and I installed an SEPST. Did a few smart tune sessions and to be honest, I don't notice a difference. I'm not the most sensitive when it comes to small changes, so maybe it's me.

But I'd skip the SEPST if I did it all over again.

Then screw it. I'll save the money and just run it as-as. The SEPST seems to be a waste of money and I'm not willing to take the chance of fouling my warranty for not much of a gain from an aftermarket tuner.

Others have noticed improved performance with the SEPST, so who knows... ?

I’m not experiencing anything in the way of decel popping. I may get the random subtle pop between shifts but that’s about it. I only notice the heat from the engine at lights when it’s above 80 degrees which even my previously tuned bikes showed. The motor pulls strong any time any place. I think I’m good.
