I am coming up on a 1000 miles on my sportglide, awesome bike. The new transmissions are real smooth, with no clunk. My only complaint is that it needs a 7th gear lol. I am constantly trying to get another gear at 80+. You can thread the eye of a needle with it, very nimble. I like the clam shell bags better than my flhtk bags. After the 1000 mile check up, I am installing the high flow intake, Vance Hines black big radius pipes and a tune. The stock exhaust is too quiet, I installed the Tab performance muffler and I still don't like the sound. The 107 is a good performer in this bike, I ride both of my bikes with a heavy wrist, this bike is a ticket getter.

I bought my Sport glide 5 weeks ago , have 600 miles on it. I bought to keep at my country house and use it on back roads and accessional highway. This bike is fast in stock tune but I did order a Bassani pipe with a high flow filter that I will install next week only because bike was too quiet for me. I like that the bags are easily removable, I keep them off unless I decide to go shopping and need them.
This bike out handles any M8 softail I tried, probably because of the inverted fork and better tires that are not so fat. I noticed the fat rear tires on the Fat Boy fought me on the turns the Spot Glide doesn't do that.
The Sport Glide is heating up hear in the Northeast , I see them in the dealer one week and they are gone.
Good luck on your decision.

My (unsolicited) advice would be to make the deal before you make the drive. Tell them that you'd be having to drive 7 hours, and you're not going to make that drive unless you get a hell of a deal. So have them commit to the price before you start the drive. Internet sales is a pretty big thing nowadays, so they should understand this and be happy to accommodate you. I certainly wouldn't walk in as just a customer off the street, and there's no way I'd show up with a trailer and telling them I drove 7 hours to get there -- you're exactly right, in that scenario they've got all the power.

If you've got the available funds, tell them you'll be bringing a cashier's check and you need to know the exact out-the-door amount. And tell them they're competing against other dealers so you need their very best offer. And make sure they understand that the deal is contingent on a test drive, because -- heck, you haven't driven one before, and that's a perfectly reasonable contingency.

If you don't want to try to make the deal beforehand, then the advice about parking a block away is genius.

Another option is to shop cycletrader.com, you can put in the exact model you want and tell them to sort it by distance, it'll bring up a number of new bikes that dealers are offering, maybe it'll show one closer to you than you have already found?

The Heritage and Sport Glide do not share the same suspension, different forks and rear shock. I just passed 2K miles on my Sport Glide and it is the right bike for me at this point in my life for all the reasons ulev1st sited. I have only ridden my E-glide Sport once this year, and that was only 6 miles, it is just to heavy and tall for me anymore. The Sport Glide, I believe, will extend my riding at least a couple more years. Thanks Harley for releasing a bike I like to look at as well as ride.

Beardo's exactly right, there's not much difference in engine between the two. It's an increase of 6.5% in displacement.

On the other hand, as a buyer, I can say that I definitely wanted the 114 and didn't consider the 107. For a few reasons. First, I wanted a hooligan bike that would really move, so of course I wanted the bigger engine as a starting point. Second, as Beardo pointed out, I intended to build the engine up a bit (Stage II) and the 114 includes the $300 Ventilator air cleaner. And third, I just wasn't going to buy a new bike without anti-lock brakes, and the 114 included them (they're an $800 option on the 107). Given that there's a $2000 price difference, I saw the 114 as good value -- it includes $1100 of options, so the upgrade to the 114 engine was only really $900. That's about the cheapest performance boost you can get from Harley anywhere. Heck, they charge $600 for mufflers, so $900 for the 114 engine was a good deal in my book.

As far as the 107's position in the lineup -- I believe Beardo's spot-on that if someone wants a good solid dependable daily rider, the 107's fine. And I think it serves as a great upsell bike, the $16,999 is a good entry price point, and the upsell to an $18,999 114 is probably really easy (at least it was for me).

That’s a silver Toyota behind it.

Here’s my heritage in the fortune silver. It has some gold or tan mixed in. It doesn’t look like a car silver

Thanks, I've done the Cycletrader research and that's how I found this dealer with one in each color. They are offering $1,500 off MSRP but trying to hit me hard (in my opinion) with dealer fees and won't budge at this point. I know its not the same bike but 4 weeks ago we bought the 2018 883 at the local dealer and they dropped $900 off a $9k bike and waved all dealer fees. I'm going to call again this week before deciding to drive maybe I misunderstood his quote. Am I wrong at thinking $2k in dealer fees (shipping/prep) is too high?

Thanks, they had a Street Glide in the Silver Fortune at my local dealer. I agree, definitely has a gold tint to it.

Am I right in saying that your pictures don't really reflect the degree of shine in the metal flake of the Fortune Silver?

Unless the salesman was wrong and the bike I was looking at was some other type of silver (again I'm unsure of the model of bagger), to me that Silver Fortune(?) paint looked like something you'd see on a ski boat or a show car or bike. Very large and very heavy metal flake. Very unusual for something you'd expect to see on the street, at least to me. Eye catching for sure.

I've done the Cycletrader search, that's how I found the dealer with the 3 colors in stock. All other dealers within 5 hours only have one color. Their sale offer is $1,500 off MSRP but they hitting me hard (in my opinion) with dealer fees (shipping & prep fees) in excess of $2K. I know its not the same bike but we bought a 2018 883 four weeks ago at the local dealer here and they knocked $900 off the MSRP and waved all dealer fees. I'm going to see what they can do before heading their way.
