Again, the '18 Softail series do not appear to have a Sumping issue as differentiated from the M8 Touring bike series. The engines are different between the two series.
We have at least one report of one '18 Softail sumping, from Triumph900 -- a stock 114 Fat Bob.
I do not think I've seen any other reports of Softails sumping.
So is the M8's problems strictly being reported by the those in the touring family? I was wondering the same.I dont think I read or heard from any '18 ST owners. Was hoping mid '19 I would be looking at the M8 and hopefully the teething pains have been dealt with & fixed.. I'll keep the '02 and bring in a new steed 2 is always better than 1 ! ............
Sounds like a TB issue to me.
I have seen no credible accounts of Softails sumping.
On the M8 forum at least half of the sumping "stories" I have found to be fake. Many of them had multiple profiles here and the same IP address.
Not saying the Softails can't or won't but for me none have IRL.
Anybody can make a profile and say my bike is doing this and many have done so ,If you type up your bike has sumped OK let's see the work orders the pictures , let's see the proofs.
Sure the MOCO needs a kick up the **** for the early build baggers but to think other manufacturers are not making bogus claims to make sales is just naive, corporate is warfare, the jealousy factor too is not to be underestimated as well, many of the 2 IP guys had just invested in new TC bikes and maybe felt ripped.
Proof all things must be proven or they are not.
