Default 2.15 to the 3.5 help/info

So i am looking to go to the 3.5 on my 05 night train and take off the 2.15. So my first question is how wide is the 3.5 rim with a 120 on it? I have a wrap around fender that has a inside measurement of 4 1/2" . If it has to go ok but is the a way to keep it? smaller tire on the 3.5. Anyway any help would be great. I am staying 21 rim size just want to go wider. thanks guys.
