Default Adjustable handlebar risers for an '18 Heritage

I'm looking to move my handlebars a little closser to me. H-D offers a set of 6" curved pullback risers that fit the Heritage, but I'm affraid the clutch and Brake cables would need to be replaced. Don't really want to spend the $$$ for longer cables just to get the bars 1" closer to me.

I'm considering these from J&P. Only 2" higher if straight up, but I would be adjusting them toward the rear so the height would be nominally the same, just closer to me.

Rox Speed FX 2″ Black Pivoting Handlebar Risers

I could use help to answer a few questions.
1. Can anyone who has moved or reconfigured their handlebars on a '18 Heritage tell me if the stock Clutch and Brake cables will allow these to be installed?
2. Does anyone have first hand knowledge about these risers?
3. Any opinion if they how they would work to bring the handlebars a little closer to me?

Reviews seem to say they work, but can't always trust everything you read.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Since I did not get any replies I had to answer my own questions. And, since I could not find a set of pullback risers for my '18 Heritage that I could be assured did not need longer cables I decided to try these adjustable pivoting risers.

Well I was able to install them with out the need for longer cables. The clutch cable just makes it and the brake cables still has slack.

They actually raised the bars about 1.5 inches and pulled them back about 1 inch, which was I was looking for. Took a lot of strain off my arms especially on the throttle wrist. Also allows me to sit up straighter with my back against the baskrest.

Installation was a slight PITA as you can't tighten the bottom bolts of the original clamp with the allen key with the risers in place. After getting them in position the bottom bolts needed to be tightend with a small vice grip plier first before doing a final tightening of the top bolts with the alen key. Getting them pivoted in the desired alighned location is a chore. Once they are locked down in their final position installing the handlebars is easy except slipping them in place is a little difficult because the clutch cable is tight until all titghtening and positioning is complete.

I did the install by myself but I'm sure if an extra set of hands were available it would have been much easier.

My bars are black so I got the black ones (significanly cheaper than chrome) so they are hardly noticable.

Glad you like the new risers Frank. Will you post an installed pic when you get a chance?
Cheers

Installed Pivoting Adjustable Risers

Could probably bring them back another 1/4 to 1/2 inch

Those are the two bolts that must be tightened with a vice grip plier

Helped finding a better position for my phone mount, now it clears the speedo.

Pics as requested.

Frank

I am in the same boat. Looking to bring the bars back an inch or 1.5 inches. I saw these risers advertised. But I am looking for more traditional risers so I can use my original clamps.

I don't want to add any rise to the bars, but maybe a small rise is OK. I have searched HD, Dennis Kirk, JP Cycles and have decided to talk to the parts guy at HD dealer.

The reason I am considering this is because I installed the new Mustang seat with backrest. When I lean back, I reach for the bars.

The ROX Risers did the trick for me. The black are also the most least exspensive way to go and to me they are hardly noticable.

I note that you have read the other posts on this subject, so you know what is available.

When you decide which risers to get make sure they are for 1" handlebars and you can't go higher than 3 1/2" with out the need to change cables. H-D has nothing specific for the Heritage at this time.

The little bit of rise and the 1" pullback makes the reach quite a bit more comfortable.

I believe the rise compensates for the handlebar lowering that occurs when you adjust them to bring them back toward the rider.

Hope this helps.

Got to do what you got to do to be comfortable!

For all of us looking for handlebar and riser solutions, here is one. I have had a set of Helibars for another bike. The quality and fit is amazing and they are the most versatile setup I have ever seen.

Helibars

I am considering. I have an inquiry in.

Dennis Kirk sells a set of 3.5 pullbacks giving 1.5 inch pullback. I will probably go with them.
