At 5’6” I was fine on the Slim till I switched to a Corbin, wich placed me back just enough to cause issues with reaching the bar.
The HD pull back riser worked great, but didn’t like how it made the bar look
Great with out.
Awkward with on
Been waiting patiently for the day to come. And I’m finally having the street slammer installed on it even as we speak.
Hopefully wont regret it
I am 5'6", too. I have had risers on every bike I have owned so guess I am used to the look. Someone else suggested the Street Slammer, would be curious to hear your thoughts on it when done. Thanks for your response.
Carlini make some nice bars so do Wild ! , which I have on my Nightster and love it is a quality bar. Street slammers look good I have been trying to find a softail with them on it to physical feel the rise and pullback . Let us know what you decide on and good luck!!

My Slim should be ready any day. Was at the shop today to drop off a caliper for install along with a steel braided break line.
Didn’t see my bike, but did see the the boulivard bars and cables in a pile by the srvice dsk
I wanted to give an update on the handlebar situation. I had the Heritage bars put on the bike, wow, a what a difference in comfort for me. I now have some bend in my elbows and can really lean into the Mustang Seat backrest. I know the long hauls will be so much more enjoyable now. The downside would be the cost of the change and the appearance. The Heritage bars do take away some of the bad *** look and all the cables are now on the outside of the bars, Heritage bars are not set up for internal wiring. FYI, the stock cables worked and no additional cables\wiring were needed.
Hope this helps anyone looking for a change in 'comfort'. I am pleased with the change.
I am 5'6, lady rider. I think that beach bars would have been an even wider reach than the stock bars. I talked with the parts at the local HD about bars and he said that anytime someone came in looking for more comfortable\reach with bars, he always steered them towards the Heritage bars.
Ive been watching this thread .. my 18 deluxe has 4.5 inch risers stock. Im 5' 6" and reach for the bars. I want to sit up straight. Im adding the six inch risers to give me 1.7" of pull back. If I sit on the stock 2018 .. I lean forward a bit to reach the bars. If I lean back where my lower back is fully on my backrest, my knuckles are just touching the bars on the tank side when I do the make believe bar grab.
I have the parts and was supposed to have the install done tomorrow .. but theres noise about bad weather so I had to put the install off until Weds. But I will be sure to update here. I believe the frames on the slim and deluxe are identical. If you want the parts list .. just search in the Softail section. Ive listed it already.
