Default Headlight Mount on Springer

I have a 2000 Springer and had to replace the head light awhile back - I used a universal bucket and mount -
Issue I am having is that it sits the head light to far back and I can not put windshield on -
I have mount mounted behind the springs - i would like to use wind shield occasionally but don't want to have moe headlight each time

any ideas ? or different mounting ideas?

How about a headlight bracket to give you some space behind it.

I see Springers with windshields all the time... why not use an OEM light/mount?

the rubber inside the housung / bucket was desingrated and causing light to bounce inside -
the bucket had two tabs that mounted to l n r side of shock -
now thinking about it .. curious if i could strip that down n make it work with this headlight 🤔

My rubber buffering broke apart, too. I replaced it with thick rubber grommets and used a solid bolt instead. Very easy modification if we are talking about the same thing. My headlight bucket was bouncing like crazy!

Not sure what you need to make the OEM headlight work, but how about this....

If what happened to his is the same thing that happened to mine, that will not help. Inside the bucket is a thick rubber disc with threaded bolts coming out of both sides, but the bolts are not one in the same--they are 2 separate studs but designed to reduce the vibration but at the same time connect the inner housing to the bucket (If I remember correctly-it has been a while) I just replaced the whole thing with a single bole with thick rubber grommets between the 2 surfaces to give it some vibration dampening and a solid mount. Hard to explain, but not hard to fix with a little imagination.

AGAIN, I am assuming we experienced the same problem.
