crimp the edges of the gas cap down.

Let me see if I can find my stocker I did it to. I ended up ordering a diamond black gas cap for my slim, no rattle from that sucker.

Some JB Weld put an end to all the ratcheting and clicking crap.

When I got my 2016 Fat Bob I replaced the original with a locking genuine HD cap. Before I recently traded in the FB for a 2018 Sport Glide, I removed the locking cap (to fit to the Sport Glide) and put the original cap back on the FB for a week or so. I never did cure the rattling on the original cap, but the locking one has never been anything but firm and rattle free.

just got my second warranty replacement cap yesterday. If this one fails, I'll try the JB Weld trick. the only reason for the ratcheting is to keep from overtightening. I think I can screw the cap on without over tightening.
