I get that the bikes look GOOD after this install.
BUT what about the ride?
Is this shock all that for both single rider (local rides) as well as loaded up with gear and rider on long trips?
Thanks
Nope, I think I actually used an Open End Wrench. Took me 2 days of trying to finally break it loose. This was all while up on the lift and me laying under the bike...
I don't ride 2 up and don't really pack my bike with a lot of travel gear so I can't really answer your question about that.

The ride is greatly improved.
In my case it improved so much that it really amplified just how sloppy the stock front suspension was.
I ended up upgrading that too, to Progressive Monotubes.
The final result was a Cadillac-like ride, compared to stock...
I just installed my Shotgun shock on my 2017 Slim S. I soaked the bolts in WD40 for a few hours, heated them with a torch, and then used a 3/4 wrench with a small sledge hammer. I lift weights and am in pretty good shape but could not budge those bolts. It took maybe 30 minutes with the wrench and hammer to finally get them all the way out. They fought me almost the entire time but I was patient and didn't rush the install.

Are you trying to push me towards or away from this?
So if I order one I will love it and hate my current front end to the point I need to replace it also (and my wife will want to me)?
GRWHD I ride an hour to work loaded up with roughly 35lbs of gear on the highway and it rides amazing! And when I ride two up it's still smooth and comfortable.

I think JAM means that you will notice how sub-par the stock front suspension is...
What you do with it is up to you. I have already changed mine using the
Intiminator valves (did not lower it). If I had to do it again, I would probably
look into the Ohlins cartridge kit.

That is kind of what I was looking for.
My local rides are fairly mellow but I try and do at least a couple long ones every year.
Normally loaded with gear and I would hate to drop the money and then not like the product.
I did mine this Summer, bolts were a pain but bags of penetrating oil, perseverance and a couple of hammers on wrenches eased them out. Took me 5-6 hours as I was quite meticulous and was working alone. Until my confidence grew in the system I ran it at full height and least rebound and damping, it was uncomfortable as hell and I wondered if all the effort had been worthwhile. Once I started messing with the switches I eventually found my 'sweet spot' and it is a joy to ride and more comfortable than OEM in my opinion. I also nailed on a 260 rear tire, Thunderbike rear fender and a custom seat at the same time once they had returned from paint and the upholsterers respectively.
