My 2008 Heritage seat needs repair. The seam between the seat and the side is breaking. I assume the seat is not leather, but the sides ( area where the studs are) is leather. Is that correct?
Is this something I can have repaired (if I can find a place) without replacing the sides with the studs?
YES, you can get it repaired.
Most of the seats (I have owned) are not leather in the seat area.
The sides vary.
Be care full with your repair, are you looking at re-stitching the old or replacing the seat?
IF the seat material (and side material) is still good it can be re-stitched.
Or you can replace the seat material, if there is enough left they use the old material as a pattern.
Make sure you get an out the door price before you start (in writing).
If you change anything make sure you get that in writing also.
I am sure all places are not to bad but some are.
There all repairable just need to find a good upholstery shop or take on the job yourself if you can sew there are ventors on the site you can send them the seat for repair do a search on it.good luck.

Send Mean City Cycles a pic and ask for recomendations and a quote. http://www.meancitycycles.com They do good work. Might want to opt for a comfort upgrade at the same time.
I found a seat repair shop using my local Yelp for reviews. There were quite a few car upholstery shops that had pics of their work on motorcycles as well. I ended up using a guy who learned the trade from his dad....completely recovered the seat with color-matched thread to the bike and the tank FOB for around 150 bucks. Good luck in your search.
Thanks Gary - good advice. I doubt they can re-sew it, but there is enough material to use as a pattern.
Regards,
Balloo
Your Welcome.
I had the seat on my Ultra cut down and gelled.
Was quoted a price, when I left it was double.
Great work (don't get me wrong there) but it was total BS.
