Had the same thing on my 2011 that I recently bought. Previous owner installed an LED brake light with integrated signals. That's what was causing mine when the brakes were applied...bike senses it as a lamp out due to lower power pulled by the LED lamps. Have you tried to pull a code from your bike?
yeah i converted to LED headlamp and fog lights. turn signals and tail/brake are still stock. someone told me about a resistor to make that light go out if i was really worried about it. havent had time to look around for the resistor or who makes it.

I couldnt deal with the light being on. This is what I used:
I think on the 16's you can reprogram the ECM CANBUS or whatever the hell it's called so it accepts the LED's..
Do your turn signals also hyper flash?
On the CanBus bikes, no equalizer is needed for LEDs... there is a procedure to allow for the ECM to accept the lower voltage of the LEDs...
Maybe do a search, it's been posted on here before...
NOTE: I found two different procedures. Not sure if they are the original procedure I read several years ago.. but can't hurt to try them.
One says to let the 4-way flashers, flash for 30 seconds, and then the hyper flash will stop.
The other says to have the 4-way flashers flash 10 times, shut off the bike. Then turn on the bike and have the 4-ways flash another 10 times.... all normal after that.
