Default My '18 Fat Bob 114 ran a 9.9-sec 1/4-mile... sort of.

I was digging through my photos from the Harley 115th Anniversary party and found this one.

That's my run time from a 1/4-mile drag race simulator from a place called All Out Dyno Drags. They have two dynamometers set up in a trailer, and they say they track the weight of the bike/rider too to get accurate results.

Well... ain't no way in hell my 105-HP Stage II 114ci Fat Bob is going to run a 9.916-second quarter. I guess they fudge the numbers to make people think they're going really fast, but this is silly; my bike would probably do at best about an 11.7-sec quarter. Or maybe they're not calculating in a factor for wind resistance, I don't know.

Really happy with the reaction time though. On all three runs I had 0.0x reaction times, other folks were clocking in at 0.4x and such, and I knew I was having a great run, so that seemed reasonable. And the observed speed looks right, by the end of the run I was closing in on redline in 4th gear. I think those other measurements are probably accurate. But the elapsed time is fantasy.

I just did it for the hell of it, there was no line. And it was free, vs. the $20 for the "run what you brung" event.

Assuming the observed times are accurate, this really shows how the 447 Torque Cam falls off on horsepower at higher revs. From 1/8 to 1/4, over that last 1/8 mile, I only picked up 8 mph. Next year when the warranty's out I'll have Jamie or Steve hook me up with something like a 130/130 build and that should rectify that issue...

Cool Springs HD, just outside of Nashville, had that trailer at their place this past Saturday. Fun to watch.

I don’t know how they got the numbers, 9.9 is not going be 113 trap speed, 5.8 is way off on the 1/8 just some made up numbers

I ran a 2011 Challenger 392 stock at 11.97

perfrctly reasonable at your weight ratio to be in the 9’s. Also trap speed might be low because the Fat Bob makes power early but falls off quicker. Cars tend to achieve higher speeds but not till later near the finish. Maybe your Fat Bob got a strong start and ran higher speed for more of the 1/4 which resulted in good run time even at lower terminal velocity.

Holy cow No, none of the numbers make sense.
I already pointed out there is no way, all the numbers are skewered, the OP even knows it’s not correct. Not to mention the 1 second 60 foot time.
my bike runs a 12.3 at 107, so a 3 second quicker bike is only 113? It’s should be around 137
my 60 time 1.7
his RT is phenomenal though,
a ‘Busa is capable but it’s still harder then it shows on paper

Ive got zero expertise in racing/motorcycle performance measurement. But I will say my Stage 2 114 FB accelerates to ~80mph crazy fast. From there it is a more slow acceleration, then I'm pretty sure there is a speed governor at ~115 mph.

So this makes some degree of sense.

No, it literally makes zero sense. There is no way any non drag bike Harley is running a 5 anything in the 1/8th mile. An 8 second 1/8th is pretty fast for a Harley. Not knocking 2.5 - 3 seconds off that with zero mods. LOL

It’s a stage 2, so it’s a 114 and has mods. It’s possible the numbers are optimistic to help sell tuning services...but then again...

I’m sure plenty of people have dragged their M8 Fat Bob. Be nice to see what the averages are.

Negative there is no but then again.....those numbers are so far off that not only is laughable, I don't know how someone that kind of knew what their bike actually did, wouldn't call them out. They don't even correlate against each other.
Anything in the 9's is quick and fast, 113 is not fast.
Factory Stage anything is just a improvement over stock, its all covered under warranty, street legal, EPA compliant.
First timer, probably lucky to get 13.0
