I'm considering a 08 Softail Deluxe and would like to know if anybody has put on a seat that moves you further back to allow a little more leg room? I hear the Heritage Classic seat works well and was wondering about the sundower deep bucket. Also how would you compare the Softail Heritage Classicor Softail Deluxeagainst the Roadking Classic as that is the other bikeI'm considering.
Having my seat rebuilt from the inside out. If you're tall, you're going to need a different seat. As bobros said, I've heard good things about the Mustang Wide. H-D makes a tallboy seat, but haven't seen anyone using it here. The Heritage seat is a very popular pick, as there are several bikes on here equipped with it and everyone seems happy.
I'm 5'1" with an '06 Deluxe. Love the bike, hate the seat configuration. Thanks for the Mustang info. I've spoken with a company called Mean City Cycles and am sending them my stock seat tomorrow. The said the will get me 2" back and 1 to 1 1/2" up on my stock seat. Will let you know.
I have the opposite problem...I'm only 5'0 and the bike is still too tall for me I'm uncomfortable stopping on my tip toes. Needless to say I'm still riding my Ridley as I need to be flat footed. Can anybody give me some tips to lower my 2007 Deluxe or recommend a seat that would get me closer to the grounf..PLEASE??? Maria
Maria,
Lower it. My wife is 5 foot also. We lowered her Deluxe1 inch in the front and 1.75 inches in the rear and with riding boots (not high heals) she can confortably put both heals on the ground.
