This may seem like a strange question, do the extenders lessen your lean angle before the foot boards start to scrape?

Yes, if you're scraping now, then it will scrape a bit easier. The M8 Softails have quite a bit more lean angle than the TC Softails, so for most this is a non-issue. The extra comfort overrides the slightly reduced lean angle for most.

We have them for the M8 Softails (different than previous year Softys) at this LINK.

Can you explain the shifter thangy .. I would prefer to leave the shifter where it is and just have to swing my foot inboard a little to shift. That would give me more room for when Im cruzin'

The Shift Peg Spacer pushes the shift peg out the same distance as the floorboard. I too prefer to leave the shifter where it is and have more room for my size 13 clodhoppers.

Some folks want to keep the shift peg in the same relationship with the floorboard, so there is an option to do that with the shifter thangy. Sounds like you should not choose that option while ordering, plus it'll save you a few bucks!

yes I too would like know as I am keen on purchasing. The web site for the shift extender instructions refers to an older version of floorboards

From the reviews I seems like a very good product
