i don't have one, and probanly would not use it much. but i have been on a couple of below 30 degree ride for extended amounts of time and wish i had one for that. and for long highway rides it would be nice to get out of the wind.
If it's in the 50's or colder, my windshield goes on. The only frustrating thing about my w/s is the wind tends to push my jacket virticle above my waist, and I get annoying wind blast right at my nostrils????? Definately warmer when it's gets colder out. This fall, I plan on riding with a full face helmet anyway.
I like the windshields, especially now that I live in a helmet state. I rode my Springer without it the other day and the wind wanted to pull that helmet and my head right off.
Comfort is not a factor, appearance is 98% of what we do to the bikes! Even the seat - if it doesn't look good, why buy it? Sure it may be 300 times more comfotable than stock but if it's ugly it doesn't go on the bike!
Never had a windshield, never plan on it. If your worried about bugs, close your mouth while riding! Sure they bounce off your face occasionally but that was one of the first lessons I learned when riding: keep your mouth closed! If you have to yawn, cover your mouth with your clutch hand. I can talk to a fellow rider at a light and at low speeds but otherwise, whyhave your mouth open?

I do. Have the quick detachable on my deluxe, but since putting it on, haven't taken it off. Have ridden without one and while it's nice on a country road, for a ride of any length the reduction in wind buffeting and subsequent fatigue is just huge.
Had a bug/small bird? bust my lip open at about 65mph just the other day. I'm in the market for a windshield. Just not sure which one to get. I don't want a giant one like on a Heritage, but something a little sporty to complement my FXSTS, and to keep me from getting beaned!
