I did a 156 mile ride yesterday. When I got home and shut off the bike my gas cap started to whistle. I opened the cap and reinstalled it and it started again. Had to open the garage door because it started to smell like gas in the garage.
Sorry, video did not upload.

Sounds like the tank vapor/vent valve might not be working.
Its #7 in the diagram below.
There has been a lot of this happening. Mine actually dripped gas out of the vapor valve. Mine ended up being the vapor valve but some were fuel pump related. 2018 Heritage 114.
I'm sure he is, makes sense. It's a California bike so you know that it's got some crap installed that a lot of your bikes don't have. I'm getting frustrated with this 3 month old bike. First the speedometer issue that took a month to resolve, then the $426.00 flat rear tire, and now this. This is my first Harley and my batting average is getting worse.

Just something to check into...
hth,
T,
I have that #7 on my 93 Heritage. A couple of years ago I was having tank venting problems so I pulled the vent line off the tank, took my air gun and shot some air through it to clear any blockages. Well the hose popped off the vent valve I found out later and the tank has vented fine ever since.
