I am considering at doing a Stage I on my 2017 Heritage. I want to use Vance & Hines Twin Slash 3” Round Slip Ons because I like the staggered exhaust look that the stock headers provide and I haven’t found an aftermarket exhaust style that I am excited about. Along with the slip ons, I am adding Thunder Torque Inserts, a DK Customs 587 air cleaner with a catch can breather and a V&H FP3 EFI tuner. Can I expect a performance gain? Or just get better sound and style because I am not doing a full exhaust. Also, If I decide to add a S&S 583 cams at a later date, will having just slip-ons negate some of the performance gains the cams would provide?
2017 Heritage with Stage 1
My wife did Rinehart kickback exhaust pipes , screaming eagle air cleaner and power vision tuner for stage 1. Ended up with 87 HP and 102 Torque. Big gain.
Stage I Complete. I went with Rush Slash Down slip-ons with 2" baffles, 158 Thunder Torque Inserts, a DK Customs 587 air cleaner with a catch can breather and a V&H FP3 EFI tuner. Sounds great! Unfortunately, the snow here in the PNW is putting the test ride on hold.
