I have the exact same bike and this part number dosen"t fit the 2017 softail slim. HD sells a rack or a sissy bar but not an integrated system. I put on the HD detachable backrest and will get one welded onto the backrest somehow. BTW, if you go with the detachable system you also need to relocate the turn signals and license plate, otherwise the detachable HW won't fit.

Yea, if you find a solution please post. I'd rather not fiddle with welding and painting. The detachable system is really nice though. Takes seconds to install and remove. Super high quality.
My bad on the fitment. I googled, it came up. I didn't research additional. I did check the HD site first, but didn't find anything. I think you'll probably need to piecemeal it. Buy the right sideplates that support a luggage rack connection, then get the right (correct width) sissy bar that fits that bike. The luggage rack is usually separate anyway. I might have to replace my own soon. I ended up jacking up a screw that holds it in, and then had to drill the sob out. Now whatever I have, the whole thing rattles.
I used the taillight relocation kit (which you don't have to if you grind the sissy bar attachment) and welded
on tabs so that I could attach the HD AeroRack. I will add a few pictures this afternoon when I get home from work.
I don't know why HD dosent offer an integrated rack/back rest like the heritage. I guess the thought is the Slim is a bobber and thus less need for a luggage rack/backrest system.

That's the issue - there are no QD "sideplates" for the FLS/FLSS/FLSL to start with. You have to
start with the QD Sissybar or total Fab up something yourself - DIY.... EDIT: you might
be able to start with some QD sideplates, cut a chunk out of them, weld back together
to make them shorter to fit the Blackline/FLS shorter strut mounts.
