Default Progressive Monotube lowering

Guys,
I have a 2006 Softail Deluxe with 21" front wheel and lowered in rear with a Shotgun Shock. My question is I have bought a Progressive Monotube 1" or 2" lowering kit part# 31-2504 and need to know whats the best setup to get to 1.5" lower and a soft ride? Ride mostly back country/mountain roads 1 up and I'm a smaller guy.

I've called progressive and got a guy that was very unfamiliar with this type of setup and wasn't of great help for me and my situation. He suggested to say with 1" lower with the recommended number of preload clips. I've read on the Touring page that those guys have had good success with 1" lower and removing 1 preload clip which softened the ride and lowered the front end an additional 1/4" to 1/2". But the Touring kit only comes with 3 preload clips and the Softail one has 4. So should I stick with removing 1 clip (4 down to 3) or do you guys have an experience that would lead you to recommend another setup?

Thanks!

Anyone? Need some advice on lowering a Softail front end using Progressive Monotube kit 1" or 2 " drop and how many preload clips? Dropping the bike off at the Indy tomorrow so if anyone has done this and has something to add it would be great
Thanks

I have the same kit and pretty much the same setup as you - getting ready to install it in the next week or two. I will only be lowering 1 inch.

I know that doesn't help your decision but that's where I am...
