Ok, so I believe this is my first post on the forum. I have a 2007 heritage softail classic. It was wrecked before I acquired it. I am currently trying to bring this bike back to the land of the living. Unfortunately Harley-Davidson seemed to use 2007 as the year to just " try some things out" so the road has been a bumpy one. I've searched for stock take-off wheels, OEM replacement wheels, and now aftermarket wheels. For some reason the 07 seems to be the forgotten year. I know that there has to be something out there that will get my girl going down the road again. Now if I'm lucky, some insight from some of you gentlemen " or ladies ' I may be able to find it.
If anyone knows of another year and/or sub-model rear wheel will fit my bike. Or if someone could tell me the particular offset or specs I should be looking for in an aftermarket wheel that would be great. I am at a loss.
This is an extremely low budget resurrection. So the lower the price the better.
I would check ronnies HD. Find the part.# and cross check it with other years. (ie, '08 heritage) If the numbers match you can increase the possibilities. They widened the frame in '07 so '06 and earlier parts may not work.
I recall reading that the 2007 Heritage was changed to the larger axles. However, they only changed 1/2 the bike that year. My friend has a 2007, and I believe that the rear has the newer, larger axle, while the front still runs the 3/4" axle. It could be the other way around, but I do know both axles are not the same diameter on his bike.
Thank you for the information and I will definitely check out Ronnie's. from what I have researched I believe the rear axle is the 3/4 and the front axle Has been changed to the 25 mm
I have an 07 classic and the 08 is the same bike for all practical purposes. Depending on when your 07 was manufacture, it may even have an 08 wiring harness in it as well. Mine does. I happen to have the smooth wheels on my bike, which I love..
