bought a 2007 deluxe used from a non harley dealer, had it two years, want to tune with FP3, won't pair with the bike. vance & hines says that the vin in the ECU is from a different bike maybe an 06 dyna. they say Take the bike to H-D and have them VIN match the ECU correctl. looking for help on this issue.

 

Either it was stolen or the ECM has been replaced... I hope you still have the bill of sale and that you didn't "underpay" so you can prove you handled in good faith when buying the bike, because if it was stolen it will be confiscated. You will have to back to the dealer to get your money back

Run the VIN stored in the ECU here and it will give you the bike type.
