I think that you are right about the fact that some people just want to act like they know something. I have run into some people that think that if they don't like something, than nobody else should too. I say, experiment and find out for yourself. Works for me.

Never had a problem with my 21' on my night train......I've heard lots of people complain, but I think they just wanna act like they know somethin.
My 1200 sporty had a 21â front. Handled great. It took me a while to get used to the big front on my RK. I think the skinny front tires are less effected by grooves in the road.
I've also got a 21' front wheel on my Sportster and I haven't had and problems either with grooves in the road. Personally for me, I love the look of the 21" wheels on all models of Harley's. Haven't seen another brand of bike that looks as good with that big ol' front wheel.
I got my 06 deuce last month. I got over 1700 miles plus on her now. On one of the trip, I put on 500 miles in 14 1/2 hours (stop here and there all day). trip include, freeway, highway, canyon road.
No problem what so ever... With the skinner tire in the front, you would think otherwise... But the bike is fantastic... No problem what so ever... Very stable... speed up to 100mph plus at times...
