Default Fxst heel/ toe shifter

Just wondering if anyone has a heel/toe shifter on an fxst? What is needed, and why can't I find anything for my bike? I know I'll need floorboards too. Is it something I'd have to do custom? Thanks in advance for your help.

2001 fxst/i

The reason you can't find the parts for your bike, is because yours came with the single shift lever assembly, to include single shift lever and shift peg. You need to look up the parts for a same year softail that had a heel/toe shifter (I used the Heritage) to get the part numbers to switch it over....

I have a heel/toe set up on my Bagger & Heritage, so when I recently bought a 2001 Springer, I added a heel/toe shifter so all the bikes were the same....

I didn't switch to footboards, so I can't help you there. I did swap the front foot pegs to the longer 5" version to gain some foot room, part #49500-92T for $37.00/pair from an online vendor..

You'll need to change the shift lever assembly #33668-90C @ $78.00 online. Not the one on the transmission, but the one the foot shift levers attach to, because it has a longer shank to accommodate the two shift levers. You'll need to get two shift levers (#33895-82E @ $39.00 each online), four shifter pegs (#34611-65A @ $8.61 each online), and I replaced the o-ring (#11191) and the nylon washer (#6057)

NOTE: All the part #s fit a 2001 FXSTS, so they should fit your bike (listed as a 2001 FXSTI)....... All prices were from an online HD parts vendor w/discount... they would cost more at your local HD parts counter. If you want to add footboards, you'll also need to buy two new footboard mounting brackets ($103 & $159), two foot boards w/pads ($87 each) and assorted hardware.. For those part numbers, look up the parts pic for a 2001 Heritage.... you can then also check/confirm the part numbers I gave you for the shift lever assembly, shift levers, and pegs...

Awesome bro! Thanks for your time. Would I have to get rid of my highway bar? Or is the toe shifter the same length as the stock one?

It should not affect/interfere with the engine guard, is that what you mean by highway bar?

The single shifter has a bend to it, while the heel/toe shifter is straight.... I don't have an engine guard on my 2001 FXSTS, I do have an engine guard on the bagger & Heritage, the heel/toe doesn't interfere with them....

I'd love to answer you, since you quoted me before asking this question, but I have no idea what you are asking...

What do you mean by "toe pegs"....?

The picture you quoted shows a forward foot peg, and over it is a heel/toe shifter set-up, with two shifter pegs. One on each of the shifter arms....

Your post on heel toe shifter conversion says you would need " 2 shift levers and 4 shift pegs " I used different term. Why 4 and not 2?

Default Swap

You don’t need same year parts for the parts swap. I’ve got an 05 FXSTB and swapped with a family member. He has a 16 Heritage Classic, and it was a direct fit. The issue you’ll run into is with the side stand. You’re best off doing a complete swap, including the rear master cylinder and side stand.

Will this work on a 2007 FXSTC Softail Custom?
