Just wanted to drop in and say thank you to everyone who helped me out with advice, diagrams, etc. Through a lot of trial and error of putting the wheels on and taking them back off, I finally finished yesterday. This is probably one of the most challenging motorcycle projects I have had the privilege of completing. Here is the final product. Say goodbye to the fatboy mags for a while.
Looks good! Did you use new bolts for the rear drive sprocket? You should. Those bolts are one time use. Use new ones and red lock-tite. Clean the holes well.

when I first saw the new to you wheels im thinking Shovelhead. Wondering if that's what they call the star hub. If that's the tapered bearings that's a technical adventure not to be taken lightly. Maybe that's been covered, but I'm not spending that much time researching your thread. Just saying
