anyone got the HD narrow beach bars on their softail? part no. 56857-05
...or HD beach bars part no. 56855-05
...or aftermarket beach bars?
Could you tell me how wide they are? Do you like them? Do they wrap around so far that it feels like your pushing a wheelbarrow or can you still have your wrist fairly straight?
I'm thinking of putting (probably the narrow bb) on my deluxe but i can't find any measurements.
Better yet, if anyone has any pics please email me.
thanks guys. I think the stock on bars on the deluxe look similar to the ones on se fatboy. I think i'll just get rid of the tall curved risers and see how that feels.
I am looking to put these on an 08 fatboy with a nacelle kit. Has anyone done this? I needed a riser kit when i put the nacell on and my original bars are 1 1/4" the same as the nbb. But harley says it won't fit. Not sure why since the area that the risers clamp to is the same and the riser cover fron the nacelle kit accepts my 1 1/4" bars now.
I have the HD narrow beach bars. They are super comfortable, and the bars are still out in front of you. To give you some perspective, I find them more comfortable than the mini-apes that came stock, and I would say the mini-apes were quite a bit more comfortable than the street slammers on my Night Train.
I think the narrow beach bar is a nice compromise between nastalgic looks and comfort. I couldn't be happier with mine.
I went with these, and they're comfy... low speed maneuvers are a little interesting when you have wide bars like that, though. At highway speeds no issues, and it was a straight changeover, no new cables, or hoses, and I was able to internally wire everything.
Whole swap took about 4 hours, taking my time.
I did change to the low effort clutch kit, because my 02's clutch was nasty in town.
Easy now, and glad I did it.
I was more concerned with them fitting with my nacelle kit. Harley's book says they will not fit. I can't see why. I wanted to know if anyone put the narrow beach bars on with the nacelle kit.
