If you have experience with shovels you should be fine with your '04.
The computer controls the ignition and timing.
Most likely there's a sensor for cylinder temp, one for manifold pressure, possibly an o2 sensor.
Not sure about a cam sensor.
You can look down by the oil filter, right where you'd put a wrench on the filter to see if it has a crank position sensor, not sure if carbed bikes have that.
You still can control idle speed and how rich or lean it runs by adjusting the carb or changing jet sizes.
Post up a pic of it.
I posted something similar to this a few days ago but dont know where it ended up? I'll try again,
This helped alot to point me in the right direction. Thanks
Looking at the wiring diagram on the parts manual on the harley site also helped alot.
Nice looking bike Gela. Looks like it was well taken care of. And accessorized. Hopefully a lot of your questions can be answered when the manuals get there on Monday or Tuesday.
FWIW - your 2004 carbed HD does not have an ECU - it has an ICM / ignition control module that's set up for emission control. And, yes, its
carb is set up way lean but there's an easy fix for both shortcomings. Dynatek makes a totally adjustable ignition module that works great
just following their instructions. HD's early carb needle #27094-88 will make your bike run like it should with or without a camshaft change - I
ran SE204's and liked them a lot.

Can anyone tell me if the top portion of the 2012 Deluxe (behind the headlight, and top sliders) are actually chrome or are they polished stainless? It seems like there are conflicting reports and I am about to chrome the down tubes so I want to know before I order all my stuff. Looks chrome to me, even compared to my wheels and other chrome parts. If anyone knows please help me.
Books came today. Never saw one of the electrical books before and after reading it some I no longer have the concerns about troubleshooting. Thanks ihodor

I buy all three (service manual, electrical diagnostic manual, and parts manual) for all my bikes.... I use the electrical manual the least, but when I need it, it's worth its weight in gold....!!
