Finally have the components being shipped to finish my build. There will be some assembly required and modifications made, but have most of the winter to work it out.
springer front end. I want to put a 180 fat tire kit on this if I can get the brake parts to fit. If not Ill keep the stock rim.
And supertrapp legends x pipes. They dont make these for breakouts and likely will require modifications. I found used ones for pretty cheap so theres room to maneuver. If I can get the fit, plan is to weld on 45 degree elbows and Cocktail shaker end pipes to make them upsweeps.
all parts except the heat shields and shakers will be powder coated too. Pretty stoked.
your idea for upsweep exhaust sounds great , i hope it works out .
springer is super cool , i'm not sure about the wide tire though . i guess i'll wait and see !

hard to say. A guy showed me his with a 23 fat tire front. Needed to extend the rake to make it work. But the concern on a 18 is there may not be enough radius for brakes.
Parts trickling in. Still a few parts I need to finish rebuilding the springer. Upper clamp, brake linkages, and axle specifically. But this is a start. Will be powder-coating the rigid fork while keeping the front side chrome. So have time to collect a few other pieces.
Making progress. The pipes fit with no modifications. Didnt even have to create a new bracket. Picked them up cheap so I dont feel bad about modifying them. While I am tempted to make a minor one to tighten things up, maybe down the road. working now on the upsweeps and then to get a new ceramic coat on them. The heat shields seemed to leave some streaming on the original coat.
Pipes slowly coming together. Mocked them up today. Gonna get some welding done this week And ceramic coat on the main pipe and elbow bends hopefully next week.
Progress on the mockups. Learned to use a lathe the other day so I could bore out the end caps to double as a reducer for the 1.75 pipes. This gives me the option of a 80 degree bends or a 45 degree bends. Making progress as the winter drags.
