Default Budget Build upgrade

I have a 2000 Fatboy with the 88" motor. Bottom end was done at about 50,000 miles with a new welded crank and all of the good bearings.
Andrew's 26 cams were added a few years ago and the bike runs great.
I didn't have the time or money to do a cc increase back then. Because I knew I had to do something about the heads to make it work.
I have been keeping my ears open for a set of heads from a 96" motor, because supposedly they flow 210 CFM versus 180 for my 88" heads. My buddy had a set given to him and we are going to swap. He just wants a 2nd set of heads in case his motor lets go. He's tough on them, lol
I figure with a set of pistons and 17% more head flow, it should make a nice little package for little money.
Heck, these would work:
1550 Screamin Eagle pistons
New rings and gaskets, cylinder bored to match, should be good to go.
anything wrong with my plan?
Thanks!

Sounds like you have a solid bottom end to work off of......

In my experience, just throwing good parts together, doesn't always work out well.....

There are numerous shops that work on Harleys for a living.... I'd contact a couple of forum sponsors, tell them what you have, what you want, and your budget....

Then allow them to suggest the best combination of mods to get you where you want to go..... on budget....!!! Since they do this for a living, they will be able to suggest a combination of mods that work well together and compliment each other...

Good luck with the mods....

PS- just for comparison, I have an "03 Hertiage with SE 95" big bore kit. I've owned it since new, installed the big bore when it was 6 months old, and it's run well for years. A few years ago, I addressed the cam tensioners by upgrading to the "07+ cam plate, pump, hydraulic tensioners, and Andrews conversion cams (26N). The bike runs just as good now with the A26N cams as it did with the SE203 cams........ Lucky? Good tune? I'm, not sure, but it happened to work...
