Default Adjusting sissy bar or replacing

Just got a '17 Heritage and I'm trying to see if the sissy bar can be moved back further. Coming from an '07 Vulcan. When the wife rode with me on that, there was space between her and I which she loved. Now on this, she's right up against my back with no room to spare. Every bump we hit or every time I may need to slow down quick, she's complaining about moving around. Is it possible to move the sissy bar back even an inch or two to create some room? I took the saddle bag off on one side but if I can remember right, all I saw was a star bit screw and the studs coming out of the piece that held on the saddle bag. Anyone ever had something like this go on and have a fix for it? I'm even willing to buy a new seat or sissy bar, just need to know what works with this bike and will give us some breathing room.

Put on a smaller back rest pad, get a custom bar OR get her her own bike..
Those are the only options.

Contact Bitchin' Seat Co. He makes a set of side plates for the Breakout that moves the passenger back 2.5 inches over stock. I had to get a set for my bike. They were expensive but well worth it. He may be able to make a set made for your Heritage. He told me he can make just about anything as they are all hand made. I only had to source my own hardware and install them..
