Default Disconnecting Wheel Speed Sensor

Hi all, just a quick question to see if anyone know what disconnecting the wheel speed sensor will do to any fuel control and engine performance. I know the WSS is integral to the ABS but on other bikes I've had...if you so wished...you could disconnect the speed sensor and get the bike to go faster.
Of course there wouldn't be a readout on the speedo etc or mileage wouldn't count up, but if you have another measurement of speed, like a speed gun held by a friend, would you be able to et higher speeds out of the standard engine.

We used to do this on some sports bikes when racing down straight runways in high speed tests, so wondered if this would work on a Softail and more specifically on my Sport Glide.

Just asking out of interest, I wouldn't do it though. Honest

Thanks in advance

The bike will likely not run too well with it disconnected..

Yep, I think that could be the case too but still wonder if it would free up the fuel flow. Cheers

OP, there are many correct ways to up your power, if you so choose. Disconnecting a functioning speed sensor makes no sense. You are either trolling, or a moron. Read up on performance add-ons.

Well I'm neither and no need for that kind of assumption either. It was simple question to determine whether the WSS has any affect on fuel metering that's all. On other types of bikes you can disconnect the WSS and this will override the factory restriction, so I was just wondering if this would do the same.

The wheel sensor is solely used by the ABS to determine when a lockup occurs. Your bike won’t go faster if it’s disconnected, and your Speedo will still work. You’ll get an error code and the ABS won’t work.

Strych9, you were a little more blunt than me.

OK thanks that's makes sense. Just wanted to clarify whether there was a connection to a fuel injection map or not. As for the other comment, just inappropriate! This was a technical question not a practical application but in other bikes that some may not be familiar with, a disconnection of the WSS does actually affect the mapping.

I'm not well-known around here for my tenderness.
