Anyone know if there's a length difference between a breakout and rocker belt? When I started moving toward my bobber look, I noticed a divet appear in the tire from rubbing on the fender. This wear was left of center in a straight line. Adjustments to get the tire off the fender left the belt feeling too tight.
My breakout has a 250 on the tire. I know people have gotten a 250 and 60 on their rockers. Given that both share a frame and swingarm, is it possible the lengths are a tad different? I'm seeing the following differences on the microfiche:
132t breakout 96
132t breakout 103
133t all rockers.
All seem to have the same size sprockets (132t). As I look at these I'm presuming I need to put a rocker belt on to make the difference. Just need a sanity check so I don't buddy a belt doing all of this. Any thoughts?
Yes, the Rocker has a longer 133t belt.... But, I had the same problem with my Rocker when I did the 30/70 trans sprocket/rear pulley upgrade, with a Metzeler 260. It moved the wheel/tire forward to where the center of the tire was rubbing the inside front of the fender.
I had the stock fender at the time, and solved the problem by putting (4) 3/16" spacers under the mounting points of the fender, which moved/raised it up off the tire. You can give that a try 1st, might save you from having to change the belt.

Did you do that in lieu of the washers already there or added to?

The washers that are there go on the outside of the mounting points under the bolt head...The 3/16" spacers/washers go between the fender and the swingarm so it raises the fender.
