I am ready to convert my ‘09 Heritage to hard bags. I was able to purchase a set of Harley bags from an older street glide. I ordered the conversion bracket which had no instructions. My question is, what bolts do you use to mount the bracket to the fender? I doubt the long bolts for the soft bags will work. Also I am curious about the spacing between the bracket and fender. Any help is appreciated as I’m at a loss. The pic shows where I am talking about. Thanks!
You ll want shorter bolts I can’t remember if my kit came with them but you should be able to pick some up at any hardware store, confused as to what you mean about fender spacing though, in the rear when kit is installed ?
Paul1970, by spacino I meant does the conversion bracket go flush up against the fender once I remove the long bolts and use shorter ones.
Yes sir if my memory serves me right it does, it’s been several yrs since I did it and the bikes gone now so I can’t look but I’m almost certain it did

I recommend the Mustang lid bras.
They not only protect the lids but they go with the Heritage theme.
As Paul noted; you'll have to reverse your axle.
If you don't the nut will hit the bottom of the left bag.
As for where to mount the brace; I have the Cycle Vision Baggertail mounts so your's might be different.
Here's some pictures that might be helpful.
