2000 Fatty value
I have a chance to pick up a 2000 Fatboy from a friend. The bike is Canary yellow and black. The friend bought the bike new in 2000 after his 98 got stolen. He stopped riding right after purchasing the bike due to a growing family and hasn't ridden except to go "around the block" once a year. The bike has been stored in a super clean heated basement and looks like it is brand new. It is mint. It has a total of 732 miles. What is it worth?

Quick NADA search says average retail for a 2000 Fatboy is $4,560. Might be a little more up in Connecticut.

Tires are usually in the $100 - $200 range each. If you have a dealership install them it’s probably an hour or so labor $90. The drive belt is about $150-$200 and another hour or two of labor.
Another thing to keep in mind is that seals and gaskets can dry out over time too when a bike just sits. Also, oil and fuel degrade over time too. I would suggest having a qualified mechanic look the bike over before buying it to let you know if they see anything. Dry seals and only running for a few minutes a year could actually cause condensation and rust on internal motor parts. Bike could look brand new on the outside but actually have some costly repair needs. Not saying it will, or trying to be Mr. Negative, but you’ll want to know what you are buying.

Basically NOS?
Yeah, new tires and belt but to TRY and deduct from asking price? (Craigslist shopper?)
He would probably do 6K without being too insulted if your a "friend".
NADA has been in BED with big Insurance for years. LOW pricing so they can pay out less on "total loss" cases!
