As said , take your battery in and have it load tested , chances are it's low or has a dead cell . While your at it , you should clean all your connections , could be you have corrosion building up . I use an electrical contact cleaner , does a really good job of cleaning all connections . Pay attention to the POS and NEG battery cables as well as all wiring to and from starter . You may also want to check your fuses and give them a good cleaning as well .
Start there , if your battery checks out ok , get yourself a volt meter and test your charging system , you should have 12V not running , idling at 2000 rpm , you should see between 13 - 14.5V , no higher the 15V .
If you look just in front of the battery , on the right hand side ( rear brake side ) under the back of the tank , you should see a post with Neg wires attached to it , cleaning that wouldn't hurt either . I'm not that familiar with the Deluxe , so you may not have this like my Road King does , but it's worth looking for .
I agree , purchase a battery tender , if your bike sits for days on end without being started , having a battery tender hooked up will maintain battery voltage .
Keep us posted with the outcome . I would still check the charging system with a voltmeter once the battery is fully charged , to make sure it's doing it's job , and have the battery load tested or you may just end up stranded .
So looking at the battery it appears to have 3 cables from positive and negative ?? See this photo. Two of them have the male female connector as shown ?? Any ideas why there may be two them ?
