Default Oil capacity question

My bike goes in for it 1k mile service first thing tomorrow (with about 1400 miles on it). I want to switch to Mobil 1 V-twin and gear oil and need to pick some up tonight. Form searching I see the engine will take 3 quarts but couldnt find the capacity for the trans? The trans just uses regualr Mobil 1 gear oil in 75-90w right? I plan to just use the SYN3 or its replacement in the primary, the 1k service was part of my deal when I bought the bike. Please no flames, I do have an owners manual but its at home and I need to get the oil on my way home from work tonight.

The transmission should take 20-24 ounces. Mobil 1 75W-90 gear oilwill work fine.

Take them four quarts of Mobil 1 20W-50, three for the crankcase and one for the primary and a quart of gear oil for the transmission. You may as well switch to Mobil 1 for the primary as well.

I was just looking at my service manual this morning for the capacities, as I'm getting near the 1000-mile mark myself and plan to change over to Mobil1 as well. According to the book, the capacities for the transmission and chaincase are 32 ounces each.

On the 1K service I had them put Syn3 in all three holes. But I'ma bit **** about oil changes and maintenance in general so I changed it again at 3K and put Mobil1 20-50W for V-Twins in the engine and primary and a quart of Mobile1 75/90W in the tranny. Unless I can find a good reason to switch and a reliable local (and cheaper source) for Amsoil I'm going to stick with that combination for as long as the government do gooders will let uskeep ourbike's.

32 ozs but before take it into the dealer read the warranty to include your extended warranty. if its a 1k service read what it gives for an allowance over the recommended oil changes I know my extended warranty on our truck gives you an extra 100 miles over the 3000 mark for a vacation allowance but this is not every oil change only a couple. more than this it will void the warranty. plus you need proof in the way of receipts and a log to prove you preformed the services as recommended. If you take it in 400 miles past the recommended service you could void your warranty both standard and extended.
just on a side note 6qts of syn3 to fill all 3 holes. Harley recommended syn3 and amsoil recommended the same product in all 3 holes. I am not an engineer but i normally trust them to know more than i do.

I noticed in the manual, the picture of what the primary level "should" look like did not match what I saw. Apparently thingshave changed a bit. In the manual it states not to "over-fill the primary chaincase with lubricant" and it should be about 26 oz. with the bike upright. Having said this, the dealer says he puts the entire quart in but this could cause rough shifting and and incomplete disengagement etc.

I dumped the entire quart in the primary just like the service manual said and wondered if I had put enough in. But it shifts fine and the clutch works perfectly, so I guess its right.
Don't forget the Darby cover has been moved up a little on the 96" engine so it easily holds 32oz. of oil.
