Hey guys new to this site looking for cam recommendations for my 2006 fxsts. contacted Andrews they said 37's not sure because of compression. any input would help
I put Harley 204 cams in my 96 with a Thundermax fuel control and heavy breather air cleaner and a Thunderheader exhaust and go 98 HP and 105 Ft Lbs of torque. Used to walk away from stock 103 motors. It wouldn't lift the front end of the Night Train but it would stretch out the forks a bit... A lot of people tried to talk me out of it, but after they did the tune and ran it on the dyno they were believers. These were designed for the old 88 motors but work great in a 96B softail motor. Good luck on your project.....
I have S&S 510 gear driven cams in my 06 and have been happy with them over the years. If the 509Gs would have been available back then, I would have gone with them as they kick in at lower RPMs.

98 hp in a stock 96 with SE204s? Sure like to take a look see at that dyno?
Walking away from a stock 103 up top is a no great feat btw. lol
I guess I should be a bit more optimistic about breaking 100hp with my 103/S&S 570s.

Dude, you don't even know what a hot rod cam is and can't even decide on what the hell your gonna do with your own 103 build but yet you come into this thread and mock this guy.. I'm starting to believe your nothing but a TROLL. Here's this Dude's thread in the mechanical section.. Check it out... https://www.hdforums.com/forum/engin...od-cams-4.html
OP, in an 88"er you'd be better off with the 21 over the 37.. 37 definitely needs more comp to work...
